Ship from Stockholm to Turku Finland

Came back from my Europe trip, planning a trip to Northern Europe. Question about how to get ticket for "Stockholm --- Turku" shipline. Is it true Eurail Global pass covers the basic ticket, but holder will pay extra for cabin space? If that is the case, can I pay for the cabin space on board? Anyone took this ship route before? Greatly appreciate if anyone can share some info. Thanks.

George, I have taken the ferry between Turku and Stockholm but it was a long time ago. However, I do know that you would need to get your ticket/cabin reservation before you get on the ship. The two companies that run this route are Viking Line and Tallink Silja. Both companies have offices in Stockholm and if you wait, it is possible to go to their office and get your ticket and reservation there. However, I would suggest you check their websites which should have some info on the discount for passholders and prices. In the summertime, Friday evening trips tend to get full. Below are the two pages which list discount info. www.tallinksilja.com/en/productsAndPrices/routeTrips/eurail/ www.vikingline.fi/timetables/prices/discounts.asp
