I'll be in Seville for 2 days in September - what shouldn't I miss? Anyone been to a bullfight there? I'm a female traveling solo. Thanks!
i didn't see a bull fight, but checked out the ring was pretty cool. note bull fight is not year long, so they may not have it in sep. 2 days is minimal for seville - definitely want to see the cathedral and climb the towner, and the palace with garden pretty cool. you also want to wonder the santa cruz area for bars and shops, and walk along the river there are a lot of sites there. i saw a dance show in the evening, so you can ask hotel to order ticket. the 2nd night you can hang out at bars, or if they have parade carrying the virgin you can walk with them.
Check out Really Discover Sevilla Tours - great! Small group, not a large group as in other tours, knowledgeable guides. They can advise you on some of the happenings...Get your flamenco ticket through them as well. Good hostal: Patio de Santa Cruz. I did not stay there, but went by it on my last trip and will stay there on my next visit.
Thank you David and HJ. I'll be sure to check all these things out!
I think the Bullfighting season ends very early in Sept. in Seville but extends a little longer in Madrid. If you're there first of the month, there's a chance you can catch the tail end of the season. I think watching flamenco dancing would be a great evening activity. Other interesting activities might include: • Real Alcazar • Plaza de Espana • La Giralda • Cathedral (tomb of Columbus) • Museo de Bellas Artes - flamenco dancing • Bario Santa Cruz (Jewish quarter) • Parke de Maria Luisa
• Boat ride on Guadalquivir River
Thanks so much, Brad!
