We have three days after conclusion of RS tour in Madrid, and are considering spending those days in Seville, with possible side trips into other andalusian destinations. Is this realistic? I know it's not "enough" time, but if it's all we have, what recommendations do you have for spending these days?
You could do it. That is not the issue. Just a question of how rushed do you want to be. You could easily spend the time in Seville with a stop off, either coming or going, in Cordoba. Maybe take a bus to Arcos. If you are going to see Seville you don't much time for anything else.
Hey....if you've only got 3 days, you've only got 3 days.
Assuming you've seen/done enough in Madrid and area, Sevilla is a good idea. Depending on when you leave Madrid, you could stop in Cordoba for a few hours to see the sights there, then take a later train into Sevilla. If not, Cordoba is a good day trip in itself...only about half an hour by train from Sevilla.
Other day trips could involve Cadiz and Ronda...Ronda's best by car, but it's possible by bus. With a car, Gibraltar is a long daytrip....even Granada would be in range (about 3 hours), but that would be an up-at-dawn, home-b-midnight kinda day. For Granada, you will have to make sure you book ahead for your Alhambra tickets (www.alhambra-tickets.es), and you can get discount train fares at www.renfe.es
But don't forget...there's lots to see and do in Sevilla itself.
