Sevilla, Tangier, Granada Help choosing the best travel routes car, bus etc

I want to include Sevilla, Tangier, and Granada in my trip but am having trouble figuring out what order I should do what in. What seems best to me is after Madrid for a few days travel south (on 9/21) stopping in Cordoba for the afternoon then heading to Sevilla. Sevilla a couple of days then bus(?) to Tarifa (9/23) where we ferry to Tangier. Spend the night in Tarifa (9/23 again) and then head to Granada (??) We would leave Granada 9/26. It seems a long trip from Tarifa to Granada, should we drive it so we can stop and check things out????

We drove throughout Spain in 2007.I gather other than your last comment you are using train travel?? Have not been to Cordoba so cannot comment.
Madrid 2 days (full days)
Seville 2 nights

Tarifa(train?? bus)-overnight
Boat to Tangiers overnight Tarifa
Tarifa Gibralter 11-3 (was greatly impressed with this)If you want some particulars send me a private message
Granada 2 nights
Someone else may know the actual driving time from Tarifa to Granada

We recently did some of this by train. Took train (not the AVE) from Madrid to Granada, 5 hours, saw beautiful countryside. Then Granada to Sevilla, 3 hours, then the AVE from Sevilla to Cordoba, 45 min. then slower train back to Madrid, and out to Toledo, 30 min. I would check the train schedules www.renfe.es, click on English and you can see time tables. The trains were great! You can get all the info you need (talking to a person!) at the Atocha Renfe station and buy tickets there using a ticket machine and credit card or from the counter.
The AVE goes basically from Madrid to Cordoba, to Sevilla and then to Malaga (I think?). It is more expensive but it is fast. Madrid to Sevilla is 2 1/2 hrs. with one stop in Cordoba so it would be possible to arrange time to get off the AVE and spend 3-4 hours in Cordoba seeing the sites. If I were doing your trip I would go to Granada from Sevilla and then back. Then down to the coast. Your trip sounds fabulous. Buen viaje!
