Hi All, first timer on this forum and going to Paris. My wife and I are looking at the RS 7 days in Paris tour and possibly spending another day after the tour.
I'm particularily interested in hearing about a Seinne diner cruise and your experience and suggestions.
Also, what are the "must see[s]" not covered?
Although there are less expensive dinner cruises on the Seine, I highly recommend the Bateaux Mouches. It is truly magical! The food was excellent, and we were served one bottle of great champagne AND one bottle of delicious wine, which was included. There is live relaxing entertainment and great service. Add the breathtaking scenery of Paris and you are in heaven! I have been to Paris many times, and have traveled all over Europe, and the Bateaux Mouches dinner cruise is one of my favorite experiences. A worthwhile splurge for a magical night in Paris.
We are so thankful to have chosen Bateaux Mouches because it is classier than some other cruises and is geared towards adults, so it is much more relaxing than, say, the Bateaux Parisian, which is more touristy and has a lot of children and more noise. The Bateaux Mouches is between $114.00 and $165 (we chose the more expensive meal plan-worth it!) You can get more info. and make reservations through: cometoparis.com
Steve - I went on the RS Paris tour in 2001 and they took us on a Seine dinner cruise, so it may be included. If not, ask your tour guide who will recommend a good one, I'm sure. The one we went on was a nice experience and the food was decent.
A must see in my opinion is the recently re-opened Orangerie Museum. I also recommend checking out St. Eustache in the Les Halles area, and attending a free organ recital -- either there or at Notre Dame (Sunday). Free and great.
Have fun on your tour - you and your wife will love it I'm sure -- all your questions will be answered!
Thanks Kent, Marta, BG,
I'm working on pulling the trip together and appreciate your taking time to provide your feedback.
