We are interested in taking a Seine river evening cruise on Friday, September 23rd. From what I have read it seems most people love the cruise but have been disappointed with the quality of the food for the price. Are there any suggestions of certain cruise companies that do the evening tour (dinner not included) ONLY. No bus tour, Champs-Elysees tour etc after. Just a 1-2 hour evening river tour? I appreciate any advice!

just along the river you'll find plenty offer rides without food. many bus tour uses these same boat tours.

Sue - for me, the Seine river cruise is a "must do" on every trip - I've been on the bateau mouches several times and have many great photos to prove it! I hope you have a great time in Paris! http://www.bateaux-mouches.fr/en

Just avoid tour groups, especially with children. We did a tour with Bateau Moches and there were a huge number of tour groups there. We picked seats on top to get pictures and enjoy the sites and then a large group of kids just descended around us. The chaperones were overwhelmed and did not even know where 10 of the group ended up (they were still looking half way through the trip). The kids screamed over the audio, they threw things at one another and were out of control. When I confronted the head chaperone his response was Kids deserve to have fun. It put a damper on what I had hoped would be a wonderful experience. So my advice, go for smaller boats which may minimize tour groups.
