Does anyone have any info on Seine River cruises. Not sure if we want day vs. evening and looking just for a cruise not dinner. Also, any night illumination bus tours. We will be there is April.
Definately worth it. We took it at night and really enjoyed it. You can simply buy tickets at booth by the river. Tickets were really cheap. I would suggest that you go in the afternoon to buy the tickets for the night cruise.
Do it. Do it at night. Don't eat. Pick the cheapest one; they all follow the exact same route. One (unknown) might go a couple of hundred yards further down-river, but there's no advantage for seeing stuff. If the batobus (it's a boat, batobus.com) is running after dark when you're there - - and you've used it for transportation (hop on/off) during the day - - you can use the same ticket that same night. If in doubt, refer to lines 1 - 3 above.
We took the champagne cruise. Very nice cruise. Very nice champagne. We did it in April. It's available through viators. It wasn't at night. But I definately recommend it.
As for the illumination bus tours-I did not care for it. It was crowded, and other passengers would push past me in my seat to look out my window. The commentary on the headphones was not very interesting. For the money, I could have just hired a taxi driver to take us around. The one good part, as a fan of House Hunters International, was that I got to peek in the Parisian apartments at night. And I got to sit down at the end of a long day.
Night cruise for sure, echo the early purchase idea that day. Don't know of the bus tour option.
I have been on both day/night cruises on the Seine and prefer the day cruise. You can get some nice photos during the day sitting on the top deck. I agree do not take the dinner cruise as why waste time eating boat food.
