Both hotels look lovely on their Web sites and both have good reviews on TripAdvisor. So, which should I choose in Weggis - Seehotel Gotthard or Hotel Central Am See? Is one location quieter for sleeping than the other? Thanks.

You obviously didn't read MY tripadvisor review on Hotel Central AM See :-) I've stayed in both and they are as different as night and day. Central Am See is a great looking property with owners who are totally inept at customer service. Upon arrival we weren't greeted with a hello or welcome, instead "Where did you park?"...because you have to pay for parking. I parked where the sign outside side to park. Oh no no no, you can't park there. Read the reviews more closely because others experienced this same thing. Food TOTALLY mediocre with a beautiful lakefront seating area for the restaurant. Rooms can be hot in summer unless you get a corner room with windows on both sides for a cross breeze. Upon checkout had to INSIST that my bill be corrected because there was a restaurant charge to our room which wasn't mine. The owner INSISTED it was me...I pointed out that we had not even checked in on the date listed on the bill, and I was still in Venice at that time. He huffed and puffed and finally removed the charge only to email me AGAIN after I got home to argue once more over this restaurant bill. Poor Poor unpleasant management. Gotthard - on the other hand...lovely property, super nice owners, WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL restuarant that was packed every night for good reason. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Weggis is a wonderfully relaxing place, but there is no comparison in my mind between these two hotels.
