Seating at the Bastille Day Parade in Paris

I hope someone knows the answer to this question because I plan to visit Paris again sometime soon to view the Bastille Day parade again.

When I attended this parade in the mid-1990s I noticed a number of seats that were set along near the end of the parade route (just before the Place da la Concorde). While watching the Bastille Day parade a few days ago on the USA TV-5 Monde French language cable station I saw these seats, in a box enclosure, again.

Are these seats reserved for a certain segment of the population or are they available for a fee or are they available to all comers for free on a first-come first-served basis?

Thanks for your reply. In '98 I missed half the parade because I parked myself in front of the McDonalds near the Arc de Triomphe. All the guidebooks said that the parade went from there to the Place de la Concorde. What they didn't say was that the marchers positioned themselves along the second half of the parade route, maybe starting at the presidential palace. I didn't see them in position because I had arrived so early in the morning. All I saw there the fly overs, the Republican Guard, and the motorized vehicles. I want to see the entire parade someday so having a standing or sitting spot near the end of the parade route is what I will be seeking.
