After 2 weeks in Europe on a river cruise, my mother, daughter, and I will be flying from Schiphol to Edinburgh for a few days to visit friends, then returning to Schiphol for an early [7.20 am] flight back to the US. [Unfortunately because of our cruise arrangements, we can't just fly home directly from Edinburgh.] Does anyone have a hotel recommendation at or very close to the airport? Also, I am considering leaving some of our luggage in storage at Schiphol, to simplify the AMS/EDI/AMS trip. Rick's book mentions long-term storage lockers at Schiphol; has anyone used them?

Two inexpensive hotels belonging to the Accor chain are at the airport, with shuttle service. Ibis hotel (http://tinyurl.com/2cu8y5) 69-79 Euro....and their Etap hotel (http://tinyurl.com/ynn4mh), 59-64 Euro per night.

Yes, my friend and I have the same issue in Amsterdam. Our flight leaves at 7am. There is a hotel in the airport, but it is booked for the night we need it. We are going to stay at the Ibis hotel near the airport. I think we will have to take a cab since it will be so early, but atleast we will be close.
