scenic train zurich-italy w/Swiss transfer ticket-limited time?

if we get the Swiss transfer ticket (or point-to point ticekts, if cheaper), what is the most scenic ride and stopover point for us? We are going Zurich-Florence. We have 2-3 days. We want to see lots of mountains---would you go via Chur/StM/Tirano? stop in CHur or St. M? or Day trip to Lucerne/stopover in Lugano? other? kids with us-ages 9, 13.

I think Chur is way out of the way.I would do Lucerne and then to Lugano.You will not be disappointed.The mountains are around Lucerne.Maybe consider going up to Engleberg.I believe it is one hour train from Lucerne.Buona fortuna!Dennis
