Scenic Routes in Bavaria & Tirol?

I need advice for scenic driving routes! Can you suggest a stretch of road you found most scenic/beautiful? From Munich to Reutte to Hall in Tirol to Salzburg back to Munich. Any stops/ sights/ towns we should hit on our route?

We're planning on the Austrian zugspitze, if the weather's good. Some Luge. Is there an alpine coaster? Some light hiking, where? Berchtgaden?

I understand the autobahn can be crowded with vacationers driving to Italy in early July.

We're planning to rent GPS. I also want a detailed map in my hand to highlight the overall driving route. Should I buy that here or in Germany? Where at?

Thanks so much!

Any stops/ sights/ towns we should hit on our route? : When I drove from Reutte to Berchtesgaden my daughter and I stopped at Wattens...just east of Innsbruck.. at Swarovski's Kristallwelten. Loved the "cystal eyed giant's face fountain" in the hill. www.kristallwelten.swarovski.com

"Reutte to Hall in Tirol" There's really only one route connecting these two, and there's plenty of great scenery along the way. The views overall on your entire itinerary are wonderful, and it really doesn't matter which route you take.

"Any stops/ sights/ towns we should hit on our route?" Just keep your eyes open and your schedule flexible. You'll find plenty of things of interest.
