Scenic drives in Provence/Cotes du Rhone

I'm a photographer and I'm looking for super scenic drives through the beautiful countryside - small towns, gorgeous landscapes, etc. Yes, Rick has a few in his Provence book, but I'm looking for a few more. Basically I'm looking for something like this route through Tuscany (web page or personal experience): http://www.slowtrav.com/italy/tuscany/sd_driving_tuscany.htm BTW: I've done the above drive in Tuscany and its nothing short of amazing. It passes countless vistas that you've seen on calendars and postcards. Absolutely amazing any time of year.

When are you planning on traveling? I am a photographer too and I am currently planning a trip to Provence next July that includes a photography workshop. First I am going for 9 days with my partner followed by 7 days on the workshop. I have been collecting many links and getting ideas from here on RS and trip advisor too. Here is one link that may interest you: http://www.grande-traversee-alpes.com/en/routes-de-la-lavande/useful-information/lavender-blossoming-season
If you would like to send me a private message I can send you some links I have collected on the area, I don't have a drive guide but I have learned so much about the area through the web. I also search google and flickr for geotagged images. Michelin Green guide is excellent for Provence too.

Marcus, That drive through Toscana sounds lovely. One cute thing about the story is the implied emphasis on not wasting film. As it is 10 years old the cost of photography no longer includes film and it is possible to take shots that will later be chucked. I remember how much money I wasted on slide and print film and processing of shots I didn't want. Ain't technology wunnerful? Are you moving to the States? I see your changed tag. Good luck on your adventure in Provence. I wish I had an answer for your question, but I was looking at the destinations not the journey when I have been in Provence.
