Mom is 70 and interested in hearing the chant. The Spain 2012 guidebook is helping us plan a lot, but we need some assist on the transit to and from S.D. de Silos. Is it necessary to travel all the way North to Burgos, or are there any routes to Madrid or Barcelona from the town? It looks like a very small village.

It is a very small village, but be aware that it is a pretty good hike from the big public parking area to the abbey. As someone with knee issues, it was a pretty uncomfortable distance. I'm afraid I can't help with transit to the town, since I was traveling in a friend's car. We drove there from Palencia, en route to Burgos.
