Sandals in Paris

Hello. My husband and I will be traveling to Paris and London during June. Is it appropriate to wear open-toed sandals during the day? I plan to have dress shoes for the evening.

Yes, definitely wear your sandals. If the weather is hot, you'll be glad you brought them. I stuffed a pair into my bag at the last minute and wore them almost daily (in Paris).

Absolutely bring a pair of sandals, but make sure that they are good walking sandals. Cobble stones are tough on feet and they will thank you for choosing a pair with some support and a thicker sole. Pam

I wore my Teva sandals when there during the summer and they worked out great. They are suede and have a cork footbed, so they were very comfortable but decent looking.

No problem about open toed sandals...just read in the paper that open toed high heel boots are IT for this summer, though i think that's for the women who live here, not for those who have hours of tourist work ahead of them. Comfort is the criteria. No one will notice your feet unless you're wearing fluffy bunny bedroom slippers

We have traveled to Paris and London often, and find almost no difference in apparel than in the US. And, you still see the same American men wearing black socks with sandals! Yikes! Wear comfortable sandals, keep your clothing color profile in check, and your voice volume low and you'll blend in with the locals.
