Salzburg - where to stay?

Hi - I am looking for a nice place to stay in Salzburg. I will have a car, so it doesn't have to be in the center, but I prefer to be in the center. I know of all the places I see on hotels.com and booking.com but looking for B&B recommendations which are not on these sites. I am ok to spend 100 Euros per night on hotel. Thanks in advance.

I'll offer one possibility but it's not in the city center. We were in Salzburg in October and stayed at Bloberger Hof (http://www.blobergerhof.at/). While it's not in the city center, it has a convenient place to park your car and the city bus runs nearby so you can visit the city center easily without having to park. I'm sure that others could give suggestions of hotels in the city center. Enjoy Salzburg - we did!

I would have said Blobergerhof but skipped it until you mentioned it, Sharon, as we always stay there when in Salzburg. The evening dinners are very tasty, breakfast very nice with cooked to order eggs, very nice rooms which are not all the same, top staff. Easy free parking, reasonable prices, convenient bus. I thought it would be too far out for the OP who wanted to be in the centre.

Thanks Sharon and Nigel - That particular one is sold out. I have already looked into it. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much!

Faisal, In October we stayed two nights at the Der Salzburger Hof for two nights at 78.50 Euros per night. It is a small hotel near the train station, owned by a family. English speaking staff. The restaurant cuisine is Indian, and very good Indian at that. They have a small car park. There is some shopping nearby, but the scenic old town is a twenty minute walk across the river. We would stay there again as it is convenient for train travelers. www.dersalzburgerhof.at or [email protected]

In November we stayed at the Hotel Ganslhof. This was a very clean, modest property. The breakfast was very good and the management spoke English. We traveled by train, but there was car parking on the property. There were several good places to eat nearby. It was not in the central part of town, but an easy walk down Linzergasse which is a pedestrian only street with many shops. They do have a website that can give you current price information.

In September I stayed at The Hotel Mozart and really enjoyed my stay they. Its a 10 min walk from the main train station and two street over from the river so a short wlak to pretty much everywhere, super helpful staff, free wifi, clean and comfy beds!
