Salzburg train station and luggage

We will be taking a train from Munich to Salzburg for the day and then on to Vienna. We are not backpacking, so we will have a piece of luggage. Is there a place at the Vienna train station where we can check in our luggage for the day?

Unless they have recently finished, the main station in Salzburg is closed for renovation. However, there is a temporary building in the square in front of the Bahnhof with a travel center, and the layout shows lockers in the building as well. Here's a map. Notice the yellow building below the Hauptbahnhof, with the word "Reisezentrum". Below that is a symbol of a suitcase in a rectangle with a key over it - lockers.

Ana, You're asking whether the Vienna train station has coin lockers...yes. I don't know exactly how much it costs...would assume for a large locker it's 5 Euro. Since you are coming to Vienna from Salzburg, you'll arrive at Wien Westbahnhof, which is still undergoing construction. There are lockers towards the Mariahilferstrasse area of the station, which is being expanded.

We need lockers in Salzburg, not Vienna. We will be staying in Vienna for three days. By the way, what is the best way to get from the Vienna train station to our hotel which is close or in the city center?

Ana, the question you wrote does ask Is there a place at the Vienna train station . In terms of getting to your (un-named) hotel, have you looked on the website of your hotel? The centre of Vienna is somewhat large so for precise directions an answer would be impossible given vague question, I'm afraid.

Ana, The hotel has a decent how to find us webpage . Wiener Linien provides information about buses, trams and U-Bahn in Vienna. Using their journey planner I can get you to your hotel in around 20 minutes; there are a number of possible routes including the U-Bahn. A reasonable route seems to be (for example to see sample times): 08:13 dep Westbahnhof U-Bahn U3 direction Simmering 08:17 arr Volkstheater walk 4 minutes to Dr.-Karl-Renner-Ring 08:22 board Straßenbahn (streetcar or tram) D in direction Südbahnhof S to Schwarzenbergplatz 08:28 arr Schwarzenbergplatz walk 5 minutes to Am Heumarkt 35-37, your hotel. 08:33 arr Destination
Duration ( hh:mm ) 00:20 Fare adult 1.8 EUR, children 0.9 EUR I hope that helps...
