We have three days & two nights in Salzburg and are considering staying in a recommended B&B on the outskirts. Supposedly the bus runs often and no problem getting into the city. We will have a car and it seems to make sense to not stay in the CC and have to deal with parking. We will need the car to drive out into the countryside. It will be early November and many things will be closed but we do want to experience the beautiful scenery. Will we regret not staying in the center? Based on previous driving in Europe cities the size of Salzburg are not places to enjoy driving. Before leaving Salzburg (train to Vienna) we plan to drop the car in Freilassing (Ger) to avoid the drop fee. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!
