Salzburg Hotel

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced hotel in the old town?

Hi Sarah,

I'm not sure what you would consider "reasonably priced" but I stayed at a wonderful hotel called "Hotel Weisse Taube" that was near Mozartplatz that I loved! The staff was really nice, they had a great breakfast room and we could walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go. We payed 98 Euros in May-I would highly recommend it. You will love Salzburg! Have fun!

I like to stay at Institute San Sebastian. It's more like a hostel so it may not meet your needs. I've stayed by myself, six beds to a room, roommates from the US and Canada, bath down the hall. I've also stayed with my family of five. They gave us two rooms of three beds each with a shared bath for just our two rooms.

The place is very clean and quiet, conveniently located and affordable. I think they show the facade of the place for about three seconds at the start of Sound of Music so you could always show people where you stayed.

Recently stayed at Hotel Goldene Ente right in the heart of old town. Very reasonable, great location, nice staff. Check out trip advisor for more reviews.

A few years ago, we stayed at the Hotel Golden Krone, a Rick-approved hotel (I think we got a discount for saying we were using his recommendation). I believe it was in Old Town. I'm not sure how much it was, but it was a great place.

We have also stayed at the Hotel Goldene Ente. Great hotel, very quiet, historical and the resturant is great. You are right in the center of town so you maximize your time in the city.

I would try Hotel am Dom. I stayed there last August. It was very reasonable and a great location. In the Rick Steves book he says it's forgettable but I disagree. It's a clean room and a clean place. I didn't want to spend time in the room... I was out sightseeing !
