We are trying to decide where to stay in Salzburg and thanks to everyone with great recommendations. We are between the Bergland and P.Elizabeth and as are on a budget are leaning to P.Elizabeth. Does anyone recall how often or how reliable the bus service was from PE to Old Town? Thanks - m

bus no. 21 leaves every 10 - 15 minutes. and is right across the road from the pension,. 5 min bus ride. if you like walking its 15 min. purchase cheaper 24 passes in lower level of train station at tabac. area is much quieter and at half the price, hosts are very helpful, i highly reccommend this place. you can get a basic room or more depending on your price range. im going back in october. let me know what you think? a 24 hr salzburg card gets you into all the sights and includes bus transport.

Thanks Barry! We are most likely booking with P.E. We don't mind the busride and the price is about 33 euros less per night than anything in the Old Town. I think we are not likely to spend that much on bus fare. Also we are trying to save money where we can because our accomodations in Rome and Sorrento are more expensive. I'll let you know how everything went on our return.
