I will arrive in Salzburg Dec 8th about 3pm via the train. I have Bob`s tour book for Dec 9 at 9am. What else can I see while I am there? I will go to maribell garden on the sound of music tour. i was thinking about going to Mozart Square. I know it last minute question...but thanks in advance for your help.
I enjoyed the Mozart Wohnhaus, as much as I got to see with a 3-year-old. If you're a classical music fan at all, this is a must-see.
The gardens won't be great in December but the Churches and squares in the city center are great and very easy to walk. I would inquire at tourist information about music possibilities. The quality of music, from street musicians to professionals, is great. We also like the fortress; dress warm, it's likely to be more windy up on the hill.
In the evening walk the river and view the old city from one of the bridges. When lit at night, the city is one of the most beautiful anywhere.
delinda,
There's lots to see in the Hohensalzburg Fortress above the city. Take the Funicular up to the Fortress (the Funicular station is on the same side of the river as Bob's Tours office).
Happy travels!
Hello delinda. In addition to all the places and things in Salzburg, mentioned in replies here, I also liked the Residenz Gallery (art gallery) : it has oil paintings.
Thank you for all of your suggestions. I will try to do as many as I can in the limited amount of time I`ll be there. Thanks again.
Ciao
Der Salzburger Christkindlmarkt will be going on when you are there.

It was super cold there this past weekend, but the snow was very pretty! You'll definitely want to dress warm!
