Due to renovation/scaffolding, what proportion of the stained glass windows of Sainte Chapelle are covered up just now? Does it effect the musical concert venue? Will be there on August 20th,2011, need information before I book concert.
Look at the second-to-last row of photos at the very bottom :-) Of course, I can't verify this, but... http://www.travelpod.com/s/photos/sainte+chapelle Enjoy the concert! (Yes, I went to the ticket website and saw that they warned about a small portion of windows covered in scaffolding...perhaps that warning needs to be removed?!?)
Not sure how helpful this is since we were there in May 2011 (2 months ago) ... I read online before our trip that renovations were going on towards the end of 2010 and fully expected them to be ongoing during our visit, but we didn't see any scaffolding while we were there.
We went to a concert at St Chapelle on May 25 and scaffolding was not a problem. Windows were gorgeous at sunset. There is no need to order the tics from classictics for $40. We went to the window tic booth the day before and got tics for $20 each-great seats but there will not be any undesireable seats.
I am beyond excited to read these posts. I went to the website and see some of our very favorite music will be performed the days we are there in mid-August. I research our destinations quite a lot but didn't even know about these concerts. Thanks, Susan, for the advice to buy less expensive tickets on site. I think we've found one of our must-dos while we're there.
