We will be staying in Arles this September and would like to visit Saint-Gilles, which is only about 10 miles from Arles but we can't find any bus/schedule for reaching that destination. We did find three buses a day from Nimes. Is there an easier way? Saint-Gilles is between Nimes and Arles. If we took the bus from Nimes, we would have to take a train to Nimes and then the bus to Saint-Gilles, which in itself is over 50 minutes to reach a destination that is only 12 miles away from Nimes! Having said all of this, does anyone know how to get to Saint-Gilles from Arles?

Yes, but we were trying to find a more economical way since taxis are quite expensive in France. It will be a last resort if there is no bus that goes to Saint-Gilles. We even considered a "boat taxi." Thanks for your input.

Robert You may have already checked these 2 ideas but . . . . 1 - Email you hotel and ask, the locals know best and if it is possible.
2 - See if a local tourism bureau will help you. Bobbie

Thanks Bobbie! I did think to check with the TI but not with the hotel. Great suggestion.
