Is there any way to find out the dates for the May 2011 Festival of Der Meistertrunk.?

Well, google was pretty helpful. It is the over the same holiday each year, Pfingsten or you might call it Whitsen or Pentecost. This holiday is always in May but is dependant on when Easter is.

I believe I read in the R.S. book that it is May 22-24 this year.

According to the Rothenburg website, it's the 21st-24th of May this year.

Thanks to all for the info. We attended this Festival in 2005 and hope to attend next year in 2011 near the end of our time in Germany.

In 2011, Pfingsten will be June 12, so the Meistertrunk Festival will be June 10-13. We are hoping to be there too - have gone twice before and enjoyed it immensely! If you haven't decided where to stay yet, we love the Gasthaus Schwarzes Lamm in Detwang, a lovely little village a 15-minute walk down the hill from Rothenburg.

Liz, re Detwang. Does the Gasthaus do meals, or am I thinking of a separate restaurant in Detwang. Last time i was in Rothenberg i was thinking of walking there for lunch, but it got rainy. Truly only a 15 minute walk? Uphill too?
