We stayed in Rothenburg (Germany) once in a cute hotel built in the wall of the city. I can't remember the name. Does anyone know of this hotel of have a recommendation? Thank you!
Years ago we stayed at Hotel Klosterstuble, Heringsbronnengasse 5, Rothenburg. Phone 09861/6774. Loved it. It's just off a main street but tucked behind a lovely church and in front of a park that you can walk to and picnic in. It was very restfull. Good luck.
Thank you for the idea. I will check them out. It sounds like a nice location.
The current hotel built into the City wall in Rothenberg is "Burg Hotel". I would really recommend it, great hotel, large rooms (bed plus sitting area); good breakfast, wonderful view over the valley; just one block off the main street but zero tourist or other traffic- the street it is on deadends about at the hotel. Wondeful place. Not very big When we first visited Rothemberg there was a much larger hotel (Goldener Hirsch) also built onto the City wall but that was sold and closed when we were last there. Not sure if it will be resuscitated
That is the hotel. The Burg Hotel is amazing. We stayed there years ago. Thank you for confirming it. Such a beautiful city and location. Nice to get away from the tourists.
If that hotel does not work out for you I can recommend Hotel Klosterstueble. It was one of our favorite hotels-rooms are large with antique furnishings, excellent beds, and lovely bathrooms. Breakfast was great-will stay there again when we get back to Rothenburg.
