Hello: This is a bit of information for those who travel, have sleep apena, and who use bi-pap. My pulmonologist recommends distilled water for the humifider in my ResMed bi-pap. I recently had cause to wonder about the purity of the water where we were going. While I could probably get by without the bi-pap for two or three days (at the expense of my spouse who is kept away with my snoring), I did not want to go three weeks. The problem was one of whether or not minerals in the water would contaminate the machine (cost is about $1,000) or enter my lungs. Two solutions. One. boil the water. Second, if you don't have heat, use Britae water purifier. It's sold at Target or Walmart and comes in a 12 or 16 oz. bottle which has a purifier . The claim is that it removes many noxious ingredients in water. Might be handy for those in out of the way spots or where there are serious issues with water.
Regards. Ross Carter.
