Rooms in Tangier, Morocco

I am spening a couple weeks in Spain during July and hoped to spend a few days in Tangier. I have searched Lonelyplanet and Hostelworld and can't find anything that fits my budget(too high to quilify). I can't miss this opportunity to see Morocco, any suggetions?

Todd, our 2 day visit to Tangier was one of the highlights of our 3 week tour of Spain (we were shown around by our former exchange student and family from Madrid). Maybe it's not the very best of Morocco, but it was a thrilling, tantalizing, first peak into a vastly different culture. It made our entire family want to spend more time visiting the rest of the country. While we stayed at the (boring,1970s era) Intercontinental, I personally would have preferred the Continental Hotel, a shabby, worn, romantic, highly atmospheric historic hotel perfectly located in the historic medina. You can see candid pictures of it on Tripadvisor, and in Rick's show on Morocco. It was absolutely dripping with faded glory and character. I don't know the current rates, but according to Tripadvisor reviews, is very cheap. The food is another reason not to miss Tangier. Moroccan cuisine is amazing, much different than Spanish food. When you're this close, absolutely don't miss your chance to visit another continent. It was an amazing, memorable experience. The people (who spoke amazingly unaccented English) were also the friendliest people we've ever met in the world. Go and have the time of your life!

It may not be Marrakesh or Rabat...but it's a whole lot more exciting than the Costa del Sol. I'm with Terry on this....I spent a week in Tangiers and I really enjoyed the people and the entire experience.

Go to Borders or Barnes and Noble and check out "Let's Go Spain & Portugal w/ Morocco". They should have some pretty cheap listings.
