After spending a week in Germany with a car we have a very early flight to St. Petersburg out of Cologne/Bonn airport. Looking for recomendations for areas /towns to find a B&B or cheap(ish) hotel within a fairly close/easy drive to the airport. Are there lots of places nearby or should we try to book ahead. Not fussy about the room, just want a fairly simple drive to the airport. We wont be arriving until the evening (a Wednesday in late May). Any advise to areas or more would be helpful. Thanks. Downtown Cologne is a 15 minutes S-Bahn ride from the airport. Check www.bahn.de for schedules of those trains, check www.hrs.com for the best German hotel rates...
