Room in Bullay or Cochem

Anyone been to Bullay or Cochem lately?

We are leaving for Europe on Friday. Have B&B in Haarlem,
Bruge and cannot find a room in Bullay, Cochem on the Mosel.
All Rick's recommendations have been contacted, but they have not gotten back to us. This has been very frustrating, since we do not like to just drop into a town without reservations.

Other sites are in German and they are not getting back to us either.

Any suggestions?

We stayed at the Hotel Loespicher in Cochem and loved it! The owners are a young couple and they also run an upscale restaurant in the hotel (we didn't eat dinner there...out of our price range, but breakfasts were very good!). I had contacted them through their website and I think also via e-mail. You could call as both speak some English, though the wife a bit better (I think her name is Brigitte?).

They were wonderful as they offered to do our laundry as she informed us there were no laundry facilities in town (and did it for free!). Great location just off the main square.

Hi Caryl,

We stayed across the river from Cochem in Valwig at the Hotel Rebenhof last October. It's about 5 minutes (less than 10 minutes) from Cochem actually. Very nice place, reasonable price, very good buffet breakfast, very nice host (Cecilia) and a quiet location.

Thanks everyone for the good suggestions.

I have tried to e-mail Hotel Rebenhof, but that address
does not work.

Paul, do you have a better e-mail address? Is there a .de in it? I have tried that, but that did not work either.

Thanks again

Caryl

Stayed in Cochem last Sept 07 in Rick Steves hotel across from Church--the bells of the church drove me crazy and the staff was not very helpful except for one person--they were too busy with the restaurant on the river than to help people with the hotel. The town is bigger than you think so you may be able to pick up a place to stay across the river very short distance away. Don't forget to get to the Castle up the hill it is very interesting and tours in English too.

We stayed in Beilstein very near Cochem at the Haus Lipmann, one of the best places we ever stayed in Europe. I highly recommend it. (found on graffiti wall).

we were there for the 2006 world cup
