We are travelling from Munich to Rothenburg via Fussen and need a place to stay between Landsburg and Donauworth. We would rather avoid Augsburg to stay in smaller town but I can't find much info on hotels in that area. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Does that include Landsberg and Donauwörth, or only places in between?
Last October I stayed in Landsberg am Lech and can recommend somewhere there.
By the way, I found both of those towns delightful - high points of my trip on the RR. I also liked Nördlingen.

Every few miles or so on the road, you will see a pension, small hotel, or B&B (although I do not the name of any specifically). Depending on the time of year, you probably will not need a reservation. Agree with not staying in Augsburg. It didn't look unpleasent, but just not very interesting.
