romantic restaurant in paris

My wife and I will be in Paris for 5 nights in september. On our last night I would like to take her out for a romantic dinner. Cost is a factor. I would like to keep it under $200. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Did your wife see the movie "Something's Gotta Give" with Jack Nicholson & Diane Keaton. If she enjoyed the movie, she might enjoy going to the brasserie featured in it - Le Grand Colbert at 2 rue Vivienne. I've not been there so can't speak for the food but think you can probably eat for $200 if you keep the wine costs down. wish I'd gone last time I was in Paris.

Hi Stephen, There is a restaurant in the Eifel tower that is suppose to very romantic. I am note sure how expensive it is, a good friend of mine recomended it when I went to Paris but we did not get a chance to go there.

Unfortunately, the Jules Verne restaurant on the second level of the Eiffel Tower is VERY expensive for dinner,...not within $200/2. They have a Price Fixe luncheon menu at about 50 Euro pp (not including wine). Make reservations well in advance. Altitude 95, the restaurant on the first level, can be done within your budget....the food is OK, but you should reserve in advance, and ask for a window seat. See info at http://www.restaurants-toureiffel.com. There are some nice restaurants in Montmartre near Sacre Coeur, but the place is crowded....great atmosphere but more for people-watching. If your budget can stretch it, try a dinner cruise on the Seine....from 95 Euro per person..tres romantique! Check google for various sites that offer tickets to dinner cruises on Bateaux Parisiens and Bateaux Mouches, among others.
