Hello Fellow Travelers - My wife and I are going to Europe with the Cleveland Orchestra (she sings in the Chorus) and we are extending our trip for a few romantic nights in Paris. Any suggestions or locales to stay in and what hotels would be best for this kind of trip? I am open to moderately expensive hotels, as this is our 40th BDay present trip. I am using Steve's 2 days in Paris advice, so keep that in mind. Thanks!
My 3 favorites, in the most romantic neighborhood of all (imo of course), Ile St. Louis (little island east of Notre Dame, surrounded by the river and amazing views) are: Hotel de Lutece, Hotel des Deux Iles and Hotel Saint Louis en l'Isle. You will love this neighborhood and all these hotels. Enjoy!
Jeff, Would you be amenable to renting an apartment? My husband and I stayed at this apartment on Ile St. Louis and it was wonderful! http://cobblestoneparis.com/studio-isle
Jeff, congrats on the 40 BD present and the trip. i dont know about others , but im not sure how "moderately expensive" equates to dollars? what im try to say is that if youre going to be there for only a couple nights, i would splurge more so, if you can afford it. i know its only a hotel, but add a nice dinner/meals or so too. happy trails.
Check out the hotels listed above, and give your price range. Seriously, I would NOT mess with an apartment for these few days for a romantic getaway -- and I rent apartments all the time, but not for less than 4 nights. I'm interested in seeing what other travelers have to say after you give your price range!!!
