i have read advice from others that they have never visited the roman theatre in orange without it being covered in some way with equipment or platforms. their website indicates there is an ongoing performance there, but the tourist info people assure me there currently isn't anything set up in the theatre. anyone been there in recent weeks, or does anyone know what we would likely find there in the next two weeks, when we are visiting provence?

Some years ago I was in Orange inAugust and they were having an opera in the theater. Unfortunately, it was cancelled during the 1st act due to a tremendous rain storm. The seats were like a waterfall. BTW, no refunds. At that time I don't think that there were events going on all of the time. Try the tourist office in Orange. If something is happening, get tickets in advance.
