Planning a trip to the south of France and think I have the itinerary. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated. Sat May 19 arrive Nice Airport Sat 5/19 to Wednesday 5/23 stay in Antibes and make day trips by train/bus Wed 5/23 rent car in Antibes & drive to Cassis Spend one night Cassis Thurs 5/24 drive to St Remy Spend two nights St Remy Sat 5/26 return car @ Arles and take train to Marseille One Night Marseille
Sun 5/27 fly out of Marseill
It looks very good to me, Gretchen. My only contrary thought might be the split between Nice and St. Remy. Assuming am arrival in Nice and bus into town, you will have most of the afternoon to walk around Nice. I would probably allow one day east of Nice and one day west. One day drive to Cassis with quick stops in Cannes and St. Tropez. Drive to St. Remy on Wed with afternoon in St. Remy and Thurs, Fri, and Sat am to tour from Nimes to Vaison la Romain to Rousillon to Arles. Late afternoon train to Mareille.
Hi David,
Thanks for the suggestions. I like your idea of one less day in Antibes and an extra day in Provence. I believe the film festival will be going on so planning on skipping Cannes. So many places to see..I wish I had a month!
