My husband and I are thinking about taking a river trip in France on a small barge -- no more than perhaps a dozen people onboard, ideally fewer. We don't want to navigate the river(s) ourselves but would like a crew to deal with that aspect of the trip. Does anyone have experience with such travel? Any recommendations as to companies or boats? Suggestions as to which rivers would be most interesting/scenic, with enjoyable spots along the way to explore? In case it makes a difference, we like good walks and good food. At this point, we know very little and have only a vague notion of what our options might be. We welcome any input.
