We had guests staying here last night who are advocates of the R.S. Europe book. As they were obviously NOT following your advice, I commented on the fact. They bought it for the SPANISH part of their trip, I was told!! :-)
Which piece of advice was not being followed...using a guidebook for another country when in France?
Jeez Louise:.....
What's the question?
Roger, I'm assuming the book you're referring to is Rick's "Best of Europe"? That provides general information on all the spots that Rick covers in his books, but it's certainly not the best choice for specific information on one country. It would have been a better choice for them to buy the RS "Spain" Guidebook.
As the "smiley" at the end of the message suggested, that was humour. I don't think the book covers this part of France, hence the word "rebels". But they were still having a good trip! :-)(again)
Thanks for clearing this up Roger. It sounds like they made a good choice visiting your "hinterlands" truly off the beaten path.
