My husband and I will be in Germany for 3 days in late June. We are wondering what are the best areas or cities to visit along the Rhine River. We are hoping to see lots of castles and maybe a day cruise along the river. Thanks!

Natasha: you might want to look at some of the posts below - I'm planning a similar trip and have made a few posts within the last week on similar topics - both what town to stay in and which castles to see. From what I've learned here and through Rick's book, the section of the Rhine between Bacharach and St. Goar are the most interesting with the most castles. Good luck!

Hello Natasha. I recommend : Day 1: boat ride on Rhine River from Bingen to St. Goar, and walk through Bacharach. Day 2: Marksburg (at Braubach). Day 3: Burg Eltz. Getting to Burg Eltz is not easy.
