Rhine River cruise - Bingen to Koblenz

I will be arriving at Frankfurt Main Airport from Strasbourg at approximately 11:15 am and am considering a cruise on the Rhine River that day. Is it possible to catch a train from the airport to Bingen, board the KD Line boat in Bingen at 2:30pm and arrive in Koblenz at 6:10 pm to catch the train back to Frankfurt Airport? I will be staying at an airport hotel that evening before flying home the next morning.

The train connections and boarding times for the boat look possible but it's difficult to know if this is actually feasible with walking distances/times factored in. Thanks in advance.

You should shorten your cruise or not do it at all, IMO. I would opt for a tour of Marksburg Castle so you can see something fabulous up close, plus a shorter cruise. If you can make it to Braubach directly by train and finish a tour (50 min) you can catch a 3:00 boat south from there and get off in St. Goar or maybe Oberwesel, then proceed back to FRA. You'll see castles from the train all along the way, of course.

But really, the boat ride is often crowded, smoky, and hot, and quite forgettable in comparison with having a wander through a real castle or just around some of the lovely villages there (Bacharach is especially nice) and enjoying a nice meal or a glass of wine. You should find lots of outdoor cafes in the area where you can enjoy the scenery for a short while. St. Goar has 3 castles visible from the center of town, and with a little time, you could tour the Rheinfels Castle ruins there too.
