Rhine River cruise

Lynne, we were on Viking Sun the week of 12/12/09 and dinners at night were casual. Folks onboard questioned what to wear for the so-called Captain's Farewell Dinner. The reply was "the dressiest thing in your suitcase". Indeed, most ladies were in slacks and sweaters and some men had coats and ties - some didn't. Packing light should not be a problem. It was, however, very cold in Germany that week - down to 5 f. Don't forget your long underwear.

We were on one a few years ago and it definitely was not dressy. I took a blazer and wore it once - to the Captain's Dinner, but I felt overdressed.
