Had dinner in Vernazza 5 years ago and cannot forget (had a cold at the time). Stayed in Monterosso 1 night, only thing available. Want to revisit Vernazza an see Riomagiore and Manorola. Saw some bad reviews on Barbara's in Vernazza. Rick reccommends Riommagiore. Any recommendations? Do I need reservations sor a Sunday-Monday or a Monday-Tuesday? Heading South to Lucca then Rome FCO airport to home.

Bob, it would help to know WHEN you're planning on re-visiting the Cinque Terre? Whether you'll need reservations will depend to some extent on what time of year you'll be travelling.

Traveling through the Cinque Terre around October 11, 12, leaving on the 13th. I have heard good & bad about Pensione Sorriso (outstanding breakfast, but next to train that does run all night). Any comments. Preferences would be Vernazza (had dinner only there) or Riomaggiore (have not seen it). If need be, we could train in for the day from the neighbor cities or Santa Margarita(stayed there 2 nights before). Could we find a room when we get there or trying by e-mail the week before we arrive? Prefer a double w/private bath.
