We are returning our rental car in Sevilla, Spain in May and are trying to decide whether the train station or the airport would be the easier location. If driving to the train station is easy, it would be our preferred destination, but if driving into Sevilla would be difficult, we would drop the car at the airport and take a bus into town.

We returned our rental car to the train station in 2010 and found it with only one wrong turn that was easily corrected. I had printed out the directions on Via Michellin and I was surprised that it was so easy. I would definitely do the same in the future.

Seville can drive you nuts with the traffic. Since you're unfamiliar with the city, do this: No matter where you're coming from ride the beltway to about the two o'clock position. At that point the E5/A4 makes a sharp bend and become part of the ring road.
If you extended them in a straight line, however, they would become Ave Kansas City. Take KC toward the center of town. KC poops out (or maybe turns, but it doesn't go straight ahead any more) at a little traffic circle right at the corner of the railroad station. Most of the rental car places are clustered right there.

Many thanks to both of you for the great advice and the actual directions to the train station. It doesn't sound too complicated and we shall return the car there and avoid the extra airport transportation.
