Bonjour, staying in the 6th arrondisement for a week. Not afraid to metro but would rather not. Good to walk distances, however. Suggestions for dining closeby (without breaking the bank) would be much appreciated. Merci!
There are thousands of good restaurants in the 6th. Give us an idea of your price range (and let us know if the prices include wine).
My sister and I ate here a couple of months ago. It was really good and it wasn't expensive for what it was: http://www.letournebievre.com/ It's on the 5th/6th border on the river. Do reserve though as it is popular. We also had several great meals at brasseries by just ordering whatever the 'plat du jour' and a bottle of the 'vin du mois' was offered. Another good find was Cafe Latin on Rue Saint Andre des Arts. It's in the middle of a very touristy area so I was surprised it was as good as it was. Check out Boulangerie de Papa down the street for some of the best coffee eclairs ever made. They also do a good street food business at night. Have a great time!
Thanks for the suggestions. Our budget is probably hundred euro per couple for dinner Wine included. We are certainly not wine snobs nor gourmands And truly are in Paris for the experience. Not that we don't love French food!! There are certainly times when ham and cheese or cheese and ham will do.
