Restaurants in Baynac France

Will be spending a couple of days in Beynac and would like any ideas as to nice restaurants nearby. Don't want anything real expensive, just good food and wine at a fair price. Probably around 25 to 30 eurros/menue for dinner. Will have car and be driving around area for those days but will be staying in Beynac.
Thanks!

My wife and I had a very nice meal at La Petite Tonnelle. And tons of great choices in Sarlat - Le Petit Manoir for one ... Confit de Canard!!!

We ate at the Hotel du Chateau. It was a lovely meal...very, very, good and the hotel is nice ,also. It is at the intersection in the center of town.

Hi Bill, If you are planning on visiting Font-de-Gaume cave, I would recommend sending an e-mail and booking for the 11am English-speaking tour in advance. After the tour, about 15 minutes away, in the nearby village of Tursac, is a great little restaurant called "La Source" -- great for a leisurely, slow lunch on a pretty terrace.

Another vote for Hotel du Chateau at the crossroads in the center of Beynac. We stayed there for several days last year, and took advantage of their meal plan. It turned out to be a very good decision. We ate at the hotel every night, and the meals were the best and most memorable of our entire 3 week trip in France! I still think about the fois gras and the spectacular garlic soup (a must try!). The hotel was not fancy, but very clean and well located. Our stay there was wonderful.
While in the area, try to get to the market in Sarlat. Quite an experience for all the senses!

Last spring my wife and I had great dinners at La Petite Tonnelle and l'Hotel du Chateau in Beynac. Another good choice, whose name I don't recall, is the place right across the main road from the Hotel du Chateau, between the road and the riverbank. We ate there twice. They had a foie gras special, I think. We spent five nights in Beynac (Le Petit Versailles), toured around by day, and each evening walked down the hill to "downtown" Beynac with its three restaurants. No regrets, but also no experience with places others have mentioned. Have a wonderful time!
