Restaurant near Eiffel Tower

We have been to the 2nd level of the Tower before but never saw the lights at night. Any suggestions of a nice dinner with a good view of the Tower at night would be appreciated. Have read reviews good & bad about Chez Francais but would like other suggestions.

Check out les Ombres, pricey but is part of the Branly museum or at least nearby, with stunning views of the Eiffel Tower. Reservations well in advance required.

I, too, strongly suggest Les Ombres. I had a fabulous lunch there. I tried to make a reservation, but they were booked solid, so I showed up when they opened and got a table (and a perfect view) no problem. The food was fabulous, and the view just as good. Honestly, it was an unreal view - almost felt like the set of a movie. I paid handsomely, but I had an unforgettable moment.

"I paid handsomely, but I had an unforgettable moment." Alexander, I sure hope it lasted longer than a moment!

Our view on pricey things overseas is that long after the cost of something has been paid and forgotten, the memory of the event -- high tea at the Ritz, front row seats at "Wicked" in London, dinner at les Ombres, a Christmas performance at the Royal Albert, Vivaldi concert at St. Chapelle, Opera in Florence -- will last forever. We save our pennies for just such occurrences and eating the dreadful dollar menu at McDonald's for lunch is well worth it. :-)
