We will be in Paris May 2010 and have researched all areas for restaurants, of the 4 nights, picked one in Marais, Ile Ste. Louis, and Rue Claire. Need a recommendation for the Latin Quarter. Small, good atmosphere and of course a good selection of French cuisine, moderately priced. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Have checked out Michelin but would like your input.
Le Coupe Chou has a great atmosphere in a very old building--it even has a log burning fireplace. The food was good--not expensive. There is a restuarant that we have tried to dine at several times but it is always busy with locals(appeared that they had their table for the evening) so a reservation is necessary--many diners have their dogs under the table. It is called Lena et Mimelle--not far off Rue Mouffetard.
Don't go to Restaurant Polidor. After reading much hype, we were dismally disappointed. First, the waitress was upset that the owner let us in 10 minutes early, and we heard her screaming and slamming doors and cabinets for about five minutes in the backgound, but more importantly the menu was terribly boring and the food incredibly bland. We felt we wasted a meal there.
