We plan to be in Ravello & Positano, Italy on Tues. 9/22/09 and I read something recently about an Italian law that some restaurants have to close on Tues. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks. Marilyn
According to my 2006 edition of "Italy for the Gourmet Traveler," our favorite restaurant in Ravello, Trattoria Cumpa' Cosimo, is closed on Mondays. I've never heard of any Italian law dictating a specific closing day. BTW, though we had no bad meals on the Amalfi coast, Cumpa' Cosimo was divine.
Thanks for your input.
There's no law saying they have to close then, that's just one of the more popular days, along with Mondays. You'll be able to find open ones, especially as it's a tourist area.
I wonder if it is some kind of agreement rather than a law, that some restaurants will close on Tuesdays. Just to ensure that not everything is closed on Mondays.
I wish the gellaterias near my house would make an agreement like that :)
