reserving tvg seats

I just saw that I need to reserve seats on tvg train from Paris to Basel 6/19. We arr. Paris 6/15 and I am worried that all seats will be sold out. I tried the www.oegg.at/ to reserve online but it is in German. I clicked English and helpful hints, etc. came up in Eng. but when Iwent to the booking site, it was in German and I just do not know what to do. I emailed the travel agent who got me the Eurorail pass and she says she can't book the seats. So someone, please help and tell me how I can get this done asap. We leave home 6/6. Thanks.

You can buy seat reservations from Rail Europe. At this late date you'd better call them (1-800-622-8600) and have them send the reservations to you by express mail.

However, you should be safe waiting until you get to Paris to buy seat reservations. TGVs to Basel depart at least every two hours throughout the day. If the allotted number of passholder reservations are gone on one train, pick another.

Ann, try this site:

http://www.tgv-europe.com/en/

When it asks for your country, select "Great Britain" to continue in English. We were able to print out our tickets at home but it doesn't appear that you can do this (I kind of checked out your trip details.)But you can pick them up there at the station. Good Luck and enjoy your trip.

Hi Tim and Kathy,
Thanks so much for your help. I tried online etc. but had no success. Thanks especially Tim. I called the 800 no. and after a very long wait, was connected to a very nice agent who spent a lot of time as all the TGV trains seats from Paris to Basel were already booked, also Interlaken via Strasburg. But we did get seats via Geneva. Thank you again so much.
