Connor The train is a very long ride. Please consider a discount airlines. Check out www.skyscanner.com which has most of the discount airlines. The flights are short and relatively cheap. The eariler you book, the cheaper the flight.
Also check which airport the airlines are flying to. Some may go into Beauvais which is far away and may require costly transport to Paris. Charles de Gaulle and Orly are fine. Just make sure you look carefully at the FINE PRINT. Severe restrictions on luggage. Failure to comply means high fines maybe more than the cost of the ticket. Seat assignments require additional payments. No food, etc. You will have a great time in both cities. Bobbie

yes i am aware of the distance i will be traveling and the hours it will take me. i am just trying to see if there is a cheap way to make reservations because booking at the train station here in barca seemed a lil high when it is 40 euros just to book a seat to paris that i have already paid for with my eurail pass. let me know if there is a cheaper way to make reservations. thanks rick steve fam

A direct train is more expensive but what you can do if you don´t mind stopping in another city is to make a TGV reservation from Figueres to Paris. It´s only 3 euros and a train from Barca to Figueres is around 12 I believe. In addition, Figueres is Salvador Dali´s hometown and there´s a great museum there.

If so, then a €40 supplement for a bunk in a couchette sounds about right. If you want to travel during the day, you can take the new ALS high-speed train from Barcelona Sants to Figueres Vilafant and a TGV from there to Paris Lyon. Depart at either 09:00 or 13:00 for the 7hr41min ride. All you'll need are seat reservations for each leg.
