I read a post at another site that mentioned the RER is free on Sundays. I have not seen this anywhere else. Is it true?

I've never heard that. I definitely paid to use it on a Sunday (to Versailles) but it's possible that it has changed in the last year, but I doubt it.

I Just got back about a week ago and it was not free it was E1.50 per ticket (a carnet costs 11.10).
