RER Paris

Upon arrival at Charles DeGalle Airport we want to take the RER into Paris. Rick says to go to underneath Sheraton Hotel - Does the RER stop at P.de l'Alma coming from the airport or do we have to change trains. We are arriving early in the morning from Canada and tensions will be high so want to make the transition as easy as possible. Considered Shuttle but very expensive. Any help would be appreciated.

Shelley: No, the RER from the airport does not stop at Pont de l'Alma. I suggest you take the Roissy Bus to Opera in Paris and then a taxi to your hotel, or the Air France bus to Arc de Triomphe and then a taxi. Otherwise you will be changing metro lines with your luggage when you are fatigued & spaced out. How many in your party? A shuttle costs about 18 euro per person and a taxi from CDG will run about 50 euro.

Google Roissy Bus and the Air France Bus for fares & other info. Have a good time.

P.S. When you calculate the bus fares plus the taxi fare, maybe the shuttle charge may not look so high.

You do change trains at St. Michel-Notre Dame to the RER C line, then three stops down to Pont de l'Alma...providing you're talking about the SOUTH side of the bridge. To get to the NORTH side requires a bit more finesse on the Metro system. The RER fare is 8.60 Euro pp, and includes a transfer to the Metro. You may want to consider Norma's suggestion of the Air France bus, which stops only a couple of blocks from the Pont de l'Alma, a short taxi ride away. It only stops at terminals 1 (arrivals level at Gate 34) and 2 (3 stops) (click here for info...click on Lines, then look at Line 2), so if you're arriving at Terminal 3 (most charter flights) you'll have to take the CDGVal driverless train over to Terminal 1. Walk out of Terminal 3, turn right, and walk about 250 meters down the sidewalk, thru an underpass, across a road, and you'll come to the RER station..find the CDGVal stop there.

I had a similar question and I did Google the RoissyBus and found lots of places to look. As RS suggests, I am going to take the Roissy Bus to Opera and then transfer to Metro (across the street) to the Ecole Militaire stop which is very close to our hotel in Rue Cler. I have not been able to find out if you buy the Roissy Bus ticket from the driver, if the driver makes change.
